How to playback rendered .mxf-files?

My Vegas 8-rendered .mxf-files (1440x1080, 25p, 25 Mbps) fail to playback properly with all players I tried so far (WMP, VLC etc.). Media Player Classic plays to the end but then freezes and crashes. Anyone with the same experience? Thanks in advance.

Michael,
You need a viewer from Sony to watch the MXF file, as you can see in this post:

New Sony PDZ-VX10 MXF viewer software released (free)
http://www.sonybiz.net/xdcam

This software not only allows full resolution browsing of XDCAM MXF footage, but enables Windows to display MXF files as thumbnails in the file explorer.

This way you can use WMP to playback MXF files.

Gerson, thank you very much. I just installed the Sony player PDZ-VX10 MXF and it works fine. But despite that installation WMP and the other players still refuse to play .mxf-files

Well, after testing this Sony player I must say I am disappointed by it's handling, compared to other players.
Is there a chance to use VLC or MPC for playing back .mxf-files?

No there is not. Standard media players like WMP, VLC, QT, etc. do not work with MXF files.

Unless you need to master back out to XDCAM HD disc, you should not render MXF.

The Sony supplied player is just a basic viewer not intended to do anything fancy.

Thanks Greg, that answered my question.
