Linear light processing in Vegas 8
My article on one of the cool things you can now do in Vegas 8. The pictures should explain it.

Thank you Glenn, for a well-written article. Now if only Vegas had a Photoshop-style Curves dialog or an After Effects-style color management...

Hmm I kind of prefer the Vegas-style curves, since you can get very steep (or shallow) slopes with only two points. In Photoshop, if you want very steep slopes, you need multiple points.
But this is just my own taste! |
Thanks Glenn. Even I understood that!!
Using your suggestion I'm doing a simple cross-fade - woah! It has removed an unwanted pink "blush" from some yellow catkins; made MORE of the detail and pulled in MORE of the shallow DoF blurred detail to make the foreground "pop" more too. However, I'm running a 3.2 with 2gb and prerendering is awfully slow. And when I play it back I can't achieve 25fps? Any ideas? And a BIG thank you for explaining the process. Much to do here. However, I'd like to improve the fps though? Best regards, Grazie |
Hmm... what about the SMLuminance plug-in? Give that a shot.
In theory the 8-bit pipeline is capable of being faster, even though both do calculations in higher bit depth. (Sorry I haven't tried myself.) |
