Vegas Audio setup

I am enjoying the power of Vegas audio mixing as a part of video editing, but I find I am getting just a little overwhelmed by volume envelopes, tracks, busses, and I haven't dared look closely at routing yet.

So a question for the more experienced video editors:

When you are starting a new editing project, do you use a "typical" audio layout? For example, do you put all vocal/dialogue/voice-over to one bus, soundtrack to another, additional sound (effects, etc.) to a third?

Is there an optimal workflow/layout for this sort of thing?

Also, do tend to group all your audio tracks together in a single stack, or do you leave them by their corresponding video tracks?

Thanks,

marks
