Edit on Timeline Vegas 7 & 8
 

I am working on a project that





























I'm working on a project with five or six 10 to 15 minute segments.
How do I put them all together on the timeline to complete the editing.
Everytime I pick a segment of the project to edit, a new Vegas window pops up.

Open Vegas.

Click 'File'. Select 'Import', then 'Media' and, in the popup window, select the folder with the segments you want to work on.

You can go back to 'Import Media' as many times as you like.

The selected clips (whether they be .veg files or .avi or whatever) will just keep accumulating in the 'Project Media' box.

Thanks for the reply. I am able to import the media to the project media box however when I drag them up to the timeline all FX attributes disappear and all the events become white washed.
If I right click on the media and choose to edit, each project opens up in separate Vegas window.

FX can be applied at the event (clip), track, bus or project level. Sounds like you are applying at the event level, but maybe try at the track level.

It's a little difficult to understand exactly what you're experiencing; the more specific you can be the better.

Typically you would "edit" media on the timeline by dragging the edges to change the in or out points.
