secondary color corrector?
I'm trying to make this gal's dress white. Can it be done without affected the other parts of the image?

Apple's new color will let you create a mask with certain color values that will only effect the footage that falls inside the mask. I haven't done it myself, but I've seen the feature. Not sure what programs you have to work with so I don't know if that helped. :-P

My machine is tied up in a render at the minute, so I can't describe the procedure exactly. Use the secondary colour corrector plugin, and then use the eye dropper tool to drag a square to select the range of colours you want to change. Then use the colour wheel to change the colour. Remember, it shifts colours towards the colour you aim it at, it doesn't tint with that colour.

You can try Robert's technique... instead of dragging the color wheel, dragging the saturation slider close to zero can also work. Dragging it exactly to zero might make the dress look a little like the color opposite of sepia... so eyeball it and make sure it looks right (have a small amount of saturation in there if need be).
2- If you can't isolate the color with the secondary color corrector, then you can use bezier masking. What approach is best depends on what your source is like (is it in color to begin with, is it a still or is it video footage). |
