Importing projects fom 7 to 8

I am just getting into Pro 8 & want to carry on a project I started in V7. How do you import the complete project - (not just the rendered version of it ), into Pro 8 ?

No problem. I should have thought of it before. I just opened the original project and it seems to be OK.

However, I note that in V8 in the "New Project" box there is now "Pixel format" should this just be left at 8 bit for PAL DV widescreen ?

Just open up the .veg file from 7 in 8, and do a save. Preferably, a save-as so that you preserve a version of your veg in V7 format.

Vegas has always had forward compatibility like this, but not backward compatibility, meaning that you can't open a .veg made in V8 in V7.

Thanks Seth. Yes it seems to work that way which is not really a problem. I did a "save as", to keep a spare copy. Any comments re the pixel setting ?
