Pro 8 CPU usage: 8bit vs 32bit, XP vs Vista x64

I'd like to confirm my findings on the Core 2 Quadro QX6700 CPU usage when rendering HDV in Vegas Pro 8.0a with you guys out there who also have a quad core. Under Vista x64, I can render with full CPU utilization (95-100%) regardless whether the project is 8 or 32 bit floating point video. However, under Windows XP the 32bit projects only render with some 60% max of the CPU power (the 8bit ones render very fast using all 100% of CPU resources).

Can anyone confirm these observations? I have 4 GB of RAM, which of course is not used in its entirety by XP, but can be used by the 64bit Vista - perhaps this is the reason? Also, I'm talking about otherwise identical configuration (the same dual-booting PC, same Vegas settings).

Any comments welcome.

Piotr
