Audio Volume Envelopes?

I think that's what they're called. I want to add ramps to the volume, without having to split a clip up and adjust each one manually. Does anyone here understand what I'm trying to do?

Any help would be appreciated.

Highlight a track header and press the "v" key. Or, right-click in the header and pull down to "insert/remove envelopes".

Instant envelope. Now, double click on the envelope to create a point which you can drag around... and right click on a point for additional options.

Note that it takes two points to define a volume change, and that you can drag the envelope line itself.
