AVCHD problem with Vegas pro 8

Hi All - I had, and was using, Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 8.0 to load and edit my AVCHD (m2ts) files (rendering out to other formats) from my Canon HG10 - all working well. However, I decided to buy Vegas Pro 8.0 and now neither program will import my m2ts files. Even though I have files for VMSP SAVED - they open without the files - I can see the clips and my editing, but there are no underlying files. On dragging a file up to the window or importing (file - import) I get an error that says the file is an unsupported format - but just days ago I was happily editing the exact same files. HELP! Thanks.

Answer from CS

This is the reply I received from Customer Service:

Thank you for contacting Sony Creative Software.

We currently do not support the Canon AVCHD at this time.
