Vegas 7.0e 1080i export nightmare...

I let my Laptop (a single core) render a 25 minute 1080i project to DivX on Vegas 7.0e for 6 and a half hours and what do I get? Bad field order and purple P/B frame breaks.

I already tried ATSC and I have a time-lapse at the beginning of my project. No less than 1/4 of a way through the time-lapse, it quit (unknown error, but Vegas did not crash or exit).

Falling back on DivX didn't work either. Every render has bad field order and purple frame breaks are scrambling the bottom of the image.

I'm gonna try a HDV render (should come out at under 7GB) and if MPEG just wouldn't cooperate, I'm falling back on 720p60 DivX. But I'd really like to render in 1080i and I need help in getting a high quality 1080i encode that uses little disk space (uncompressed is just not an option) and doesn't make Vegas crash.

And yes, I am using the 0MB Dynamic RAM and 1 rendering thread trick.

Edit: Resolved, Rendered in HDV no problem and in only 2 hours. General non-MPEG2 1080i export discussion still welcome.
