Audio Drop-Out at some Chapter Points

I am having problems with audio drop-outs at some chapter points.

Usually happens when the chapter marker is at or near a cut in the audio and video.

I have worked around this by moving the cut in the audio but that is not always possible.

Look at screen capture #1. www.vidmus.com/dvda/001.jpg and you can see that the audio should be continuous but it isn't. It will dropout for approx 1 second.

In screen capture # 2, www.vidmus.com/dvda/002.jpg there is naturally a quiet space in the audio but instead of the music for the chapter coming in smoothly it jumps in instead.

I could easily enough move the chapter point in the first example but not in the second one.

So, does anyone know what to do? What the cause is? Is this a bug in Vegas?

Video is *.m2t recorded to hard drive with Focus Enhancements Firestore FS-4.

Vegas 8b with Quad Core CPU and 2 gig ram.

Don't know what is going on but from the looks of the wave file in the second one it looks like the audio starts suddenly anyway after the quiet period.

I need to clarify that when playing the first notes of the music are not played. All of a sudden the music starts playing a few notes later than it should and comes on with a jolt!

I have been messing around with the forst part and got it to be right at least for a while.

I did some tweaking on an earlier chapter and then went back to double check the first part and it was not only off again but this time it had several places where tha audio was muted.

I fixed it again, saved it and reloaded the project to find that it was messed up again. Several times I fixed it, saved it and then reloaded it and it would be messed up again.

Finally I moved the cut to the right on the timeline by about 3 to 5 seconds and it seems to be ok now. I am rendering it right now so when I put it on a DVD, I will know how the results really are.
