Changing border color on photos from black

I'm using version 6...when I place a photo on the time line that is not the correct output aspect, Vegas places a black border around the image. Is it possible to change the color of the border and if so, how? I have looked and can't figure out how to make the change. Thanks in advance.

Place a picture or "generated media" red color on the video track right below the picture.

You could use the pan/crop function so you wouldn't have to add generated media. After opening pan/crop, just right click and choose "Match Output Aspect." Hope this helps.

Thanks! I knew it would be something simple like this.
