Sheervideo / Vegas 8 Pro

I have got a question concerning the sheervideo Codec.
Does anyone use the codec for editing in Sony Vegas 8.0?
And if so: In what kind of work flow is it integrated?
What are the pros and cons?

It's a terrific codec. One of the best. But since the last rev, it's been crashing a lot for me (in Vegas). I haven't dug into it enough to know why though.
