Vegas 6d Memory Problems?

I'm working on a fairly large HDV project, I have about 100 files totalling 9GB so far in my Project Media folder. Everything was going fine, then around clip no. 95 Vegas started crashing while capturing? Eventually I got an error message saying, "Low Memory", I looked at XP performance and I was just over 2GB of RAM. I have an overclocked C2D E6600 with 2GB RAM, so I bought another 2GB thinking that must be it. When I removed a bunch of the clips from the project I seem to be able to go back to capturing without issues. But even with the extra RAM it's still giving me errors? Anybody know what might be causing this? Can Vegas 6d only handle so much data in a single project? I working with the raw .m2t files and have done smaller projects without a problem.

Vegas 6 was much more limited in the number of m2t files it could handle. Later versions handle m2t much better. You might seriously consider upgrading to Vegas Pro 8.0b.

Vegas 6 limited in how many .m2t's? I guess that explains it. I tried the Vegas 8 demo and found it much more stuttery with .m2t's? Something else was bad with it also but I forget what now, I uninstalled it like a month ago. The titler was nice, but that's about all I recall being much different really.

I'd consider reinstalling it and then applying the updated DLL file found in this thread:
