Vegas 64 bit

FWIW, I happened to be talking with a Sony CS rep Friday. During out chat I asked if he had heard anything about the release of 64 Vegas....his response was that it should be any day. He said "they" were raving about it and were very excited.

He said it will greatly improve depth of color, but that was all he would say.

Cool - but I hope they really, no really, TEST it before release. I still get crashes on v8.

Perrone Ford August 24th, 2008 10:57 PM

I really haven't had crashing issues with V8. Wonder what's different about my system and yours.

Sherif, they have been working on 64 bit for a long while. It should be very stable.

No crashes here on Vista 32bit Ultimate, home built quad and Vegas Pro 8.

I don't think there is a question that some folks have had problems with Vegas 8...For example when I changed video cards it smoothed out considerably. I shared the same experience initially as some other people who reported issues with Nvidia cards...when I switched to a Radeon my problems disappeared, but that problem didn't affect everyone. The issues seemed to be scattered...it was very hit and miss.

Overall, except for those few bumps I had at the beginning of the release, like with the cineform codec etc., I find Vegas to be very stable.

I did find it tiresome earlier on when reading responses to complaints re: Vegas 8 on this forum that the first response by some was something to the effect "I'm not having issues, so you shouldn't be either."

At any rate, I am definitely looking forward to 64 bit.

Are you kidding? Every single person out there is having exactly the same trouble that I am, unless I'm not having any, in which case nobody else is either, and that's FINAL.

deep breath... sorry, help desk days coming back to me.
