8.0c false alarm!

I got all excited when the latest copy of Sony Creative Software News arrived in my Inbox.

The headline says "Vegas 8.0c Update" and just below it is another headline saying "8.1 update". Whoo hoo!

But when you read the text it just says "coming later this month" and "stay tuned for information coming soon". Damn those headline writers! Oh well, later this month isn't that far away I guess.

On a more serious note, is this what we have been waiting for all these months (lifted from their email):

Vegas Pro 8.0c update:

- Enhanced camera and device support
- New UI enhancements and workflow improvements

Er, that's it? The people who posted in this and several other threads will be disappointed! http://www.dvinfo.net/conf/what-happ...-wishlist.html

Does this mean we can use EX1/EX3 files without the need for rewrapping ?
I hope so, that's what i want most of all.

Paul.

I guess the only answer is "stay tuned"!!

Hopefully, the M-JPEG output from the Nikon D90 will be supported. Right now, 8.0b can find the audio track, but ignores the video.

IBC in Amsterdam is starting end of this week. Maybe, i said maybe!, it's a good time for Sony to launch their update.

- Enhanced camera and device support......

Hope that means that I can finally capture from the XHA1 with 24f footage without having to flip back to Vegas 7.

I also hope that it solves the memory leak issues with these files.

Finally I hope it also solves the cfhd.dll update issues.

Anyway, all this is just speculation until it ACTUALLY releases.

Here's hoping.
