Sony Creative Software can transfer the licence for you to the new owner. On the Sony site under customer services I think it is, there is a link to 'licence transfers'.

I've done it twice.

You can always just call Customer Service and they can help you do it. You may need to wait until tomorrow (as today's a holiday).

Thanks Renton, I went and looked but for the life of me I can't find the link...search turned up nothing. I am obviously missing something!

Right Edward, they are closed today...

Sorry about that Jeff. I wrote that some time ago on another site, and simply uplifted it thinking it still applied. But I just had a look myself and you're right, it is not there now.

I wonder why - or wonder if it is only there when a new version comes out.

I will be interested to know how you get on, as I've upgraded and transferred my licence every time a new version comes out.

Maybe you can try that:
Go to your Sony support page and choose " Category > Activation/Serial Number > Licence Transfers ".

I was wrong. I went to the knowledgebase, found the category. It led to completely unrelated stuff. Please forget I brought this up. I'm calling them. Thanks for your help, everyone.

Gillies: How do you get to that page in your thumbnail?

What are the steps from the home page of SonyCreativeSoftware.com?

I'm blowed if I can find what you've shown. I'd like to know for future reference - and it is good to have in the archives.

FWIW, the phone call to customer support handled the transfer in almost no time.
