Major Bug in Vegas 8.0c Confirmed

I've just had confirmation from Sony that there is an issue with large MXF files over 17 minutes in length. When importing such files, the sound and / or picture will break up after about 17:45 so live events and so on using multicams become difficult to edit.

Solution:

"Hi Simon,

Thank you for writing back.

When double checking our internal database of issues I found this issue listed. Engineering is aware of the issue and they are working on a fix for it. I do not know when this will be available, but please download the next available update that comes out for Vegas Pro 8.0.

In the meantime, as a work around you could open the files in Vegas Pro 8.0b, render them out to an intermediate format such as .avi, then open them up in Vegas 8.0c. Or you can use 8.0b until the next available update comes out. However, the issue you are seeing is known and it will be addressed.

If you still have a follow-up question on this particular incident, please feel free to update it. If you have a completely different question, please create a new incident.

Sincerely,

Nate P.
