combining projects (.veg files) possible?

I am putting together a video and have several "Projects" that I would like to combine into a single project to render.

Is it possible to combine them, or do I have to render each separate project, then create a new project, import the rendered videos, place them on the timeline, and then re-render the entire project again?

Go into the explorer, find the project and just drag it onto the timeline.
I've done this before but for some reason it takes ages to render, it can be done though, so the answer to your question is yes.

Paul's suggestion of "nesting" veg files is a very good, simple, almost foolproof way of combining projects. I've used that method many times.

Most often I do it differently though, especially with projects with few tracks.

I open up the project that is going to be first and then save under a new name.

Then I open the second project and simply select all, copy.

Then return to the new project and click where I want to place the new info and then paste. Repeat as necessary.

If you have many lines of video or audio my method can be tricky. If you select and paste on the "wrong" video track, you will create new video and audio tracks and it can be messy. If that happens, simply undo the paste and then select a different video track and try pasting again.

There are lots of potential issues with my method, but if the projects involved are all simple it is the method of choice for me.

And if all of this fails, the fallback is to render each section out in DV-AVI format (render using Best mode).
Start a new project, import each AVI in and render to the desired format.
The AVI codec in Vegas is very good so the quality loss will be minimal doing this.
