Vector cartoon style effect??
 

Hi.

I was just wondering if it is possible to create a vector style in Vegas Pro 8?.
I have seen a few commercials with that style and really liked it. Anybody know if it is possible?.

The VASST Edge Detective, and some of the NewBlue plugins allow for this effect.

More importantly New Blue was or may still be giving away its cartoon effect for FREE still.

It is and is very good. One of the best I have used. Have to register on the net to install it though. I had to frig around and hook up my editing PC to the net (for the first time!) but know I am going to be able to use it down the track.

I've got the cartoon effect from them as well.
My kids think it's funny being made to look like cartoons.
Easy as well, couple of clicks and the whole video is like a cartoon.
Takes some rendering though.
Good fun though, a break from the norm.

As an added benefit,

If you have your own web "X" type show, podcast or ???? you can grab a still from the time line and use the grab, as a pic for your next big or on going brain storm idea.

A lot of the tech guys for instance, like Leo Laporte uses a cartoon effect for pics. On second thought there is a feature of photoshoping this as well, I suppose after further consideration, my great idea may not be all this or that but none the less, its a great tool!!

To add to the comments about NewBlueFX's excellent free Cartoonr plugin, there is now Cartoonr Pro which is part of the just released NewBlueFX Paint Blends package. I haven't tried it out yet so I can't comment on it but there is a trial version available.
