Capturing 1080 24f

I did a search on this but really didn't even know what to search for. I just got a Canon XH-A1 and all this 24f and HD stuff is new to me. Anyway I shot about a 2min in 1080 24p.

But how in the world do you capture it. The first time I did it it was capturing it like they were images and then playback was really fast and didn't work at all. So, read to turn scene detection off. So, I did that and now I just have one clip. But that clip was only 2 seconds long at best.

What am I doing wrong? How do you capture 24f? Also I am able capture normal 1080x60i no problem.

Thanks, Jason

What version of Vegas? Versions 8.0, 8.0a, and 8.0b had some issues capturing 24f. 8.0c has resolved those issues and, amazingly, 7.0d could also capture 24f fine.

I hope it is that simple. I have 8.0a. So, I guess I need to update?

download a demo of the appropriate cineform and capture your footage, should solve the problem, you may even like it and buy it

Yes, 8.0c should solve your XHA1 24f problems, as well as some issues that cropped up with larger projects and pagefile usage crashes with .m2t footage. It was a terrible wait for the fix, but it finally solved things when it was released.
