Erratic behavior vegas 8.0c and Vista

I currently loaded my Vegas Pro onto my laptop. (ver 8.0c build 260) i am having some goofy behavior such as interactive turorials dont work, preview screen goes completely black etc. Anyone else had this problem? Same copy of vegas works great on my tower in the studio which is operating on windows XP

Don't think it is specific Vista issue Dave. You might try: uninstall Vegas. Defrag. Remove any unecessary programs, use windows classic theme.

While you are at it check your power settings and disable HDs going to sleep.

Reinstall Vegas, defrag. Try again. See if that helps. If it doesn't you have a software conflict, so to speak.

As a last resort reinstall OS. Personally first thing I do with new PC is clean off hard drive and reinstall OS then Vegas, etc.
