multiple versions of Vegas on same machine

Does anyone know if I can have two versions of Vegas on the same machine? I am running Vegas Platinum 9, but also have Vegas Pro 7 sitting on the shelf. Can I install it, or will it interfere with Platinum in any way?

Thanks in advance for anyone's response.

I know that you can have different versions of Vegas Pro on the same machine (they install into different directories). At one stage I briefly had v6, v7 and v8 on one pc.

I can't think of any reason why you shouldn't also have Platinum on the same PC as Pro.

If you're concerned, set a restore point, but I don't think it's necessary.

Yes, you can have both of those installed and both will work fine. However, the Pro version of 7 has MANY more features than the Movie Studio version 9.

The current pro version is 8.0c or 8.1 depending of if you want the 32-bit version or the 64-bit version. And, in fact, both of THOSE can also be installed on the same machine and run separately.

The short answer is that all major version can be installed and run separately (i.e. 4/5/6/7/8 will be totally separate) while the "letter" updates will update the installed version (i.e. 8.0/8.0a/8.0b/8.0c will not be installed separately)

I have 7 and 8 on one machine, also you can have multiple instances of each running if your machine can stand it.

Thanks, everyone. I'll go ahead with installed Pro 7 with no worries then. And Edward, you're right - the Pro 7 does have a lot more features than MS9. But I should keep them both on the machine to handle whatever may be thrown at me.

Great forum, everyone!
