Douglas,
Thanks for the reply. I know that you are on the road doing training so I appreciate your taking the time. T.J. also sent me an email in response to my question and I appreciate that very much as well. Looks like I'll make the leap to Vegas 5 + DVD now that I know your books will be coming in the near future.

Thanks again, Nick

Orange tint problem

I'm working on a project - and I have one clip that has a bit of an orange tint. Is there a way in Vegas to change the color to something more natural looking?

I tried that. My choices seem to be keeping the orange tint, or getting another tint such as purple or green. I realize I'm a rookie at this, but is there a way to reduce or eliminate the orange for a more natural color - without exchanging one tint for another.

Pan / Crop in 5.0

Did they totally screw up this tool or am I a moron?

I try to change the width, and it just snaps to whatever the hell it feels like. I've unchecked Maintain Aspect, Stretch to Frame, etc. Still has a mind of its own.

This is a known problem. I would expect it to be fixed soon but can make no guarantees. I'm not sure what the story is but it has been reported by multiple people.

It was a great evening. I'd like to thank everyone for coming. Maybe you all can start an Orlando area user's group. (I have e-mail addresses for everyone who attended)

Frameserving should only work on your local machine. Are you
saying you cannot get LOCAL frameserving to work? If so,
please state the following:

1. program you are frameserving to

2. things you are doing exactly (also where you are writing the file to and what name you've given it)

3. errors messages etc. you get

Picture jumping up and down in Vegas 5

Hello fellow Vegaser:

I just purchase Vegas 5+DVD and tried to render some clip but run into a small problem and that is when I tried to render a clip with Mpeg 2, DVDNTSC, “GOOD” quality and use Architect 2 to make a DVD the clip looks great with no problem.

When I render that same clip with Mpeg2, DVDNTSC with “BEST” quality then use Architect 2 to make a DVD, the clip slightly jump up and down from beginning to end even thought it appear to be fine when I play it back with WMP right after rendering. Am I doing something wrong? Can some one help me fix this issue.

Text/fonts in Vegas

The only part of Vegas I find really lacking is the fon't/text department. It reminds me of cheap $80 text generators that you can buy for your old Hi-8 camera from Radio Shack.

Now this may just be me, but I'm not impressed. I was wondering if anyone out there has some examples of awsome stuff you can do with titles and text on the web?

Also, is there a way to load new fonts into the program?

Has this been improved any with Vegas 5?

Vegas can use any True Type fonts that you have installed on your machine. Just search the web for fonts that you like and install them. You'll then have them automatically available for use in Vegas.

Bug in Vegas 4/5 with Huff YUV Codec

Very serious bug you all need to be aware of.

When taking source material that is compressed with Huff YUV, Vegas sometimes drops frames and they appear as black. At first I thought I was dropping frames at capture time, but no, it only happens when I try to import source huff yuv material (that I IVTC'd in VirtualDub) back into Vegas. Frames are dropped totally at random.
