Tell me what I'm missing-using EX1 clips

I though one of the big pluses of Pro 9 was the ability to use EX1 clips natively. Page 147 of the manual says that the EX1 .mp4 clips must be converted to MXF before use in Vegas.

Please tell me I have misread/misunderstood.

I'm not 100% sure but I suspect this is simply that the manual hasn't been updated to reflect the change. Many times I find manuals aren't re-written properly when new software versions are released. I'm pretty sure, like you, that Vegas 9 is supposed to read EX1 mp4 files natively.

Dave

the original posting was May 2009... Vegas may not have been able to drag'n'drop EX1 mp4's back then (can't remember), but it can now.

And indeed it can, as I have just downloaded an XDCAM EX mp4 file and whilst Vegas 8.0c doesn't recognise it, Vegas 9.0e happily does.
