Vegas 9 timeline viewing

On the timeline when looking at a long clip, say an hour long, I can see only a couple of images to indicate what is on the clip unlike with Vegas 8. (See pics)

I find this bothersome. Is there a setting in Vegas 9 that can be changed to revert to the behaviour of Vegas 8 in this matter?

Below are examples to explain, the first is Vegas 8 screenshot (this is the way I like it) and second is shot from Vegas 9.

Jeff, welcome to another one of the new "features" in Vegas :-(
Apparently this has always been an option, just not the default that it is now.
To change it back to the old way, go Options - Prefs - Video.
In the box that says "Thumbnails to show in video events:", change it to "All" instead of "Head, Center, Tail".

Thanks Mike. As with the FX1000 camera, Sony has apparently fixed a few things that we didn't know were broken.

What is odd is that even with the thumbnails turned mostly off, the preview performance is still poor. I'm giving 64 bit Vegas 9 a third shot now that I have Windows 7 installed.

Good tip Mike.
Slowly I'm starting to get this 9.0 to work the way I want it...just need the 9.0a update...

Jeff, I trust you're aware of the fact that the Preview window now autoscales by default to get best performance.
This new feature can be turned of by right-clicking in the Preview window and disabling "Adjust Size & Quality for Optimal Playback" to allow us to go back to the old way of setting it ourselves.
BTW, besides the Pro 9.0 Readme on the Sony site, the first 2 pages of the manual outline most, if not all, of the changes.

Thanks Bob.
I'm also waiting for the update as I've found 9.0 to have too many quirks for me to take it seriousl yet.
Other users are quite happy with it but I'm not one of them :-(

Mike, I did know about the autoscaling thingy, thanks.

I'll check the read me, haven't looked at it since day one...
