vegas pro 9 32bit vs 64 bit
I was at a friends place who has both these programs running possibly the trial copies ,the 64bit is faster and better to work with but i was very surprised on the rendering output selections are different. The 32bit has a better output at the 1920 x 1080 29 fps indeo 4.5 but on the 64 there is no selection similar,so we were not able to output a real fine quality video but its is fast.
Tried to ask sony but you can only ask questions if you are a registered user |
Not all codecs are 64-bit compatible yet.

I found the 64 bit version sluggish on the timeline but it rendered quickly enough.

Now, we have WMV that is good for every PC-only distribution use, including local playback, internet progressive download, download and play, true streaming... and I believe it does have 64-bit codec versions. |
OK can you suggest
Can you suggest an output rendering setting that give me the best quality playback in 1920x1080 ,i think there were about 5 selections in the 64 bit.
I'm asking all this before i buy one or the other (32-64) I want to be able to put video segments together with the best quality i can get from the original mov file and then possibly write to a DVD. |
When you buy one you can use the serial number with both. You don't have to choose before you buy. It is good with both 32 bit and 64 bit.

What exactly is the source material you'll be using? Best quality playback in 1920x1080 and best workflow to DVD are two different things, that need to be treated separately. What will you be playing your 1920x1080 back on? For the DVD, best quality will usually come from rendering directly to 720x480 MPEG2 on the Vegas timeline. See Volume 1 #7 of Edward Troxel's excellent newsletters for the basics on how to do this. The newsletters are an excellent introduction to Vegas and many of the common tasks in post-production. |
