Project won't open - Magic Bullet Looks .dll problem/conflict?

Here's my issue with MB Looks 1.2 and Vegas 8.0c (build 260):

I have a Vegas project where on the timeline I have HDV clips and nested veg files. Within the nested veg files, I have applied MB to various clips (within the veg file(s), not on my maser timeline).

Big problem -- the project freezes upon opening (stays stuck at 0%).

My workaround:

- I have to close the stuck project (actually, closing in task manager)
- Then rename the LooksDX.dll file (I name it 'LooksDY.dll,' thus disabling Magic Bullet)
- Open back up the 'stuck project' (It now opens without MB applied to any clips or nested veg files)
- Close the stuck project (without saving)
- Rename 'LooksDY.dll' back to it's original name (LooksDX.dll)
- Reopen the stuck project - it now finally opens (with MB applied) and all is well.

What gives!?

Anyone have any thoughts or ideas about what's going on here?

Many thanks --

Nested files are not, and never have been a favorite way of working for me. It is simpler for Vegas to simply open a project and copy all the files to a timeline in another project.

Nested files can and do work, but take longer to render and to customize. Yours is a classic case in point. Just copy items on the timeline and paste to the other project and your problems are over.
