Problem with Mike Crash's Auto Levels

Has anyone had problems with flickering backgrounds with Mike Crash's Auto Levels?

I'm halfway through an HDV1080i project and have used the "Soft colour correction with film levels" preset on a couple of shots.
You scared me so I rendered them out to AVI and they look fine but I haven't viewed on a really large screen. Fingers crossed
