no firewire on my mobo???

I bought a new motherboard so I could do video editing, but there's no firewire port on it and no place to plug in the firewire from the thing on my tower that has a bunch of memory card slots and firewire ports (whatever you call that).

What do I do??? I thought about putting in my existing graphics card, but it doesn't fit the new motherboard (it has a new kind of input I guess?).

I'm starting to panic!

Don't panic. Buy a Firewire card from pretty much any place that sells computers. They have 2, 3 and 4 port cards. About $20 to $40 depending on which card and which store.

Either do what Don suggests or exchange/return the MOBO.

Next time research your board on a site like Newegg, and know the board thoroughly before purchasing.

I agree with Jeff, know your board before you buy, but in this case you can easily drop in a firewire card for $not a lot.

Here's a good place to start: Newegg.com - firewire card

Just make sure hte card you get fits the slot spec for your mobo. PCI, PCI-X, etc.
