change the timeline style in Vegas?
Hello all I am using vegas instead of premiere pro now and I would really like to turn off the picture frame style on the timeline so that I have a solid video clip with a picture at the FRONT of it ONLY not a bunch of pictures like it has now..any way to do this?
TIA |
You have TWO options:
1) See picons all the way across and wave forms on audio 2) See NEITHER of the above Personally, I LIKE all the picons across. Tells you instantly where you are in the video. However, there is no "Premiere-like" option. (one picon on head and tail) |
great, how do you turn the picons off?
Options - Preferences - Turn OFF Draw waveforms and frames in events
Is there an option to turn the waveform on/off seperately?
I echo that question
No

Minimise the waveform window is about as good as you'll get.

Can you show waveform in a select area only? Like between in and out marks?
You either get it all or you get nothing.
Why would you turn picons/waveforms off? Is it slowing down your cpu?
I, personally, find the picons VERY useful. Gives you a good summary of where you are and allows you to quickly scroll and find any section of the video. However, it DOES cause some overhead. On my equipment, it plays at 29.97 until the cursor hits the egde of the screen. While the screen refreshes, it will drop to 15 or so before going back up to 29.97.

Right, having the ability to limit what areas of the timeline shows waveform, or frames (picons? in Vegas) can free up resources when things get heavy going. Especially in full length (Two hour) projects. It's nice to be able to show a head frame, all frames, or intermittent frames when you scale the timeline. Likewise for the wave form the whole timeline, part (in to out) and different tracks.
