I'd love to see an article using the new DVI option with color calibration for output to different mediums: NTSC/PAL, Film, HDV etc.

I assumed this was a trial for Vegas 6, not the "real" version. Am I wrong? It wants a serial number, and alas, I have none.

When I installed 6 (mistakenly), 4 was still there, so I'm assuming it's okay to have multiple "Vegi" on your computer.

no problems here running V5 & V6 for months ... i think V6 only affect ACID5 media management ...

They can all co-exist fine. I have 5 and 6 both installed on this system.

I wish to report that I have Vegas 4.0 and Vegas 6.0a installed and they coexist fine.

I checked on this with Sony Technical Support before I installed 6.0a and they reported that will be installed in separate folders (directories) (by default) and they will coexist without problems.

Of course, if you choose to install 6.0 in the same folder as 4.0 or 5.0 you will have problems.

To quote Spot's great tutorial (look near the bottom),

"Vegas 6 offers XDCam support, simply drag the MXF files from the Explorer to the Timeline. You'll be able to edit the MXF files in real time on the timeline. This is a very sweet option for broadcasters moving to the XDCam format. This is a soon to come feature, but not available as of midnight, 4/17/06."

So, it'll be there. MXF files come in different flavors, though, so if you're referring to MXF file support for P2, that may or may not happen as P2 uses OP-Atom, which is only one of several MXF file structures. I'm not sure if XDCAM uses OP-Atom or some other Operational Pattern derivative of MXF. Hope this partially answers your question,
