>>Motion steady plugin
Hey guys...
I really need a plugin that is going to give me the effect of a steadi-cam I've seen it on Premier... so I know its out there! PLEASE HELP! |
|
be aware that fast hard flashing lights WILL confuse this program.. many a time have i done a shot thinking to rely on this, and then along comes a camera with a flash, and boom, my steadyhand set shot poos itself coz steadihand literally rotates the few frames where the lighting is overexposed.
so if ur doing a wedding, and u want to get that tracking shot going around teh couple, ask the photographer to NOT take a photo for those 30seconds which your tracking the couple... its a good program, and it has salvaged quite abit of work, but dont rely on it. Also to achieve a better result, when using it, or when taking a shot which u know you will want to steady, be sure to shoot in interlaced mode, and to run a fast shutter.. Also be aware that when u recode back to dv from steadihand, use RAW format as oppsed to DV, as it offers the most accurate result.. ive noticed that alot of footage deterioretes not only from resolution loss (which was expected) but from bitrate deterioration as well.. so u need to configure it properly |

I use a plugin called DeShaker that can salvage shaky video. It doesn't work with vegas but it uses Virtualdub which is a free program. Here is a quick tutorial with a video sample of what the plugin can do. |
Thanks guys...All very good options...
thanks for taking time to post |
I use and rec' DeShaker. Better than Steadyhand and free!

Don't these filters work by lowering the resolution of your video tho?
|
James: yes, they do.

anyone know of a workaround for a Virtual dub frameserver which runs this in vegas?? auto levels and noise reduction are out, im hoping someone has worked this one out yet..
|
As far as I can tell - and I'm a rookie at Vegas - the only thing you can do is save out (you'll want to do it as uncompressed), do your work in VirtualDub, then come back to Vegas.

Check out John Meyer's Guide to Using DeShaker at http://www.dvformat.com/articles/vie...e.jsp?id=28849.
He goes through the entire process. Mike |
Yep. His process is as I suspected - use Vdub and then bring your files into Vegas once you're done.
On another note, his tutorial says this: "Unfortunately, the excellent DV AVI codec in Vegas cannot be accessed by any other program. " ??? |

Use HuffYUV for your movement from Vegas to VDub and back. Fast, 2:1 compression with no quality loss. Should be noted, too, that VDub\'s cropping tools supposedly preserve more of the original image detail than Vegas\'s tools.

Sorry I got to this thread a little late. I wanted to say that there is definitely a program that bridges the Virtualdub plugins with Vegas. I\'ve used it many times, but the name escapes me.
Anyway, there is a way to use VD plugins in Vegas, so keep looking. |
