Combine multiple MPEG2 to single MPEG2 ?

Hi,

What's a good way to combine 20+ MPEG2s into a single MPEG2 without re-rendering ? I like the individual files, but my DVD image has 22 VOB files.

I have 22 MPEG2 assembled into a DVD. My problem is that I can't do rewind over chapter buttons, and the Prev/Next buttons don't work on every DVD player (works on Sony standalone DVD, but not on software PowerDVD). Though, these buttons work in the DVDA preview.

I read the threads regarding this, but I didn't see a good way to combine without rerender.

Thanks,

Gints

If you wont combine only - use TMPGEnc

If you wont extract MPEG-2 streem from *.vob, and after this from him creat one MPEG-2 file - use TMPGEnc MPEG Editor

Ideally, I would like to be able to select Vegas projects as ChapterMedia in DVD Architect. That way, there would be no pre-rendering required, and I could adjust the DVD video and AC3 setting for the entire project. I didn't notice this ability in the manual, so I guess it's just a dream for now.

Yes - its dream only, becouse DVDA does not supported Vegas projects

Ok. TMPGEnc does a good job of this. However, I can't get the AC3 files
concatenated. Does anyone know of a program that can do that ?
Otherwise, I can get used to rendering audio to WAV.

i believe that the womble editor will combine native vob's, ac3 and all... it will not re-render anything, if the files all have the same frame rate, frame size, bitrate, etc.

Search for AC3 plug-in for TMPGEnc, or use TMPGEnc MPEG Editor

Here is another vote for the Womble editor available at womble.com. It is by far the easiest and best quality way to combine or edit mpegs.

I'm using VideoReDo for my MPEG2 manipulation.
Quite capable - there is trial version.
It's mainly made for cutting out advertisments from TV recording without rerendering but have also joiner function which works like a treat!

i looked at videoredo a year or so ago... at the time, it did not guarantee that it would output dvd-spec mpeg2... i think that the developer even make a post on the redo forum to that effect as well... maybe it's been upgraded since then?
