Single Frame Twitch

I use Vegas Pro 8 with Cineform NeoScene. When I use the trimmer to cut out single frames, I sometimes get a bit of motion in the clipped frame on the timeline. Why? I get around this by expanding the timeline to display single frames. I them cut and select a single frame and render it out as a Cineform clip. This works just fine but is more tedious than using the trimmer for this. Any suggestions?

Hey,

1. What's your end game with the stills? Photoshop, Freeze frames?
2. Have you tried Save snap shot to file? Set project properties to the highest output setting HD 1080 60i or 24P - I get some lovely freeze frames that way- Then go into Photoshop etc and manipulate the image...

3. Are you creating a subclip and getting the vibrational issues?

My project is already finished so my question is for future reference. It's a wedding highlight piece in which I use a number of still frames from various parts of the wedding footage that are displayed in quick succession in sync with the music track. Each still frame is expanded on the time line to sync with the music. Many of the clips are less that a second. I don't want any vestige of motion on these clips.

A I mentioned I rendered single frames of the individual clips that I used and then placed these clips on the time line and adjusted them as needed to sync with the music. This approach worked fine; it was just a bit tedious. It would be handy to used the trimmer to extract the clips. However, when I expanded them on the timeline (for example 15 or 20 frames), I would sometimes get a bit of motion in them. I suppose when I dragged the clips to the desired length, I was actually restoring 15 or 20 frames of the source video so, in effect, it wasn't a freeze frame. Perhaps there is a usage technique with the trimmer that I'm missing.
