Settings in Vegas

Regarding settings in Vegas, I assume that the pre-rendered folder should be on a separate disc with the other video files. Also, should the pixel format be left at 8 bit ? I am using AVCHD source files but the project is in Std. Def W/S PAL.

First of all, yes I would move the pre-rendered files folder to a different place. I pointed mine to a folder called "VidTemp" and I periodically delete everything in that folder.

I'm not familiar with pre-rendering...can someone fill me in as to what it is? Is this something that is happening in the background with Vegas that I don't know about?

Tools - Selectively prerender video

It will render all sections that need rendering in the current selection area. This will allow you go get higher speed previews and cut down on final render time. However, it is very easy to "lose" them.

Take a look for this option in the help file for more details.
