.MOV coming to me on a hard drive

I've got a load of FCP .MOV files coing to me on a hard drive, some footage was from an EX1, some footage was from other camera's, hdv captired into FCP.
Am i going to be able to use these files in vegas ?
I've used the search function on this forum but as soon as macs are talked about i get a bit lost.
Also some of the threads are a bit old, maybe things have changed now.
Could someone tell me how to get the .MOV's into vegas, pro 8.

Thanks, Paul.

If it's just the bare .MOV files from an EX1, you are going to be in trouble. But you confise matters when you say FCP .MOV files. That could mean anything. That's like saying Vegas AVI files. Who knows what they are...

If the files are from the native codec in FCP (ProRes) then they'll drop right into Vegas assuming you have a fairly recent copy of Quicktime. Version 7.6.2 of quicktime is what I recommend. Do NOT go beyond that version.

Hi Perrone.
The EX1 files are EX1 files imported in FCP, which i'm told by the person which imported them converts them to .MOV, the other files are hdv tapes captured into FCP.
What's wrong with a newer version than 7.6.2 quicktime ?

Thanks, Paul.
