Options for slowing 30p

I need some clips to slow down by 50%.
What switches do I have to check ?
If I check disable resample , does Vegas duplicates each frame ?
If checking force/smart resample , does vegas create and adds an interpolated frame ?
What option is considered better ? Will AE give better results ?
Thanks
sassi

Here is a short 720p 60fps clip shot with a 7D:

Index of /yoyodyne/slow mo clip

I've been having good luck slowing down clips in Vegas thusly:

- 24p project
- drop 60p clip on timeline
- right click video clip - properties - change playback rate from 1.000 to 0.400

probably have to ram preview to playback the raw 7D file, render to Cineform/etc. for better preview. Should look pretty smooth.

Hope this helps.

I think you missed his point. He's got 30p footage he wants to slow down.

I think you've basically got it right. Resampling will blend frames, no resampling will double them up. If you want better interpolation, you need to use outside tools.

Doh.

It was the "I need some clips" comment that got me...

Bill sounds right on with his advice.

Bill, If I get you right, outside tools will interpolate better ?

Dont forget to set ruler to Absolute frames.
If your settings are right Vegas can do a VERY good job of this.
