Getting Red Frames...again
What exactly do red frames indicate? So far it's been a harbinger of bad things, RAM errors, crashes, etc.
Also, can anyone confirm or dispute the rumor that turning off 2 cores on a quad core machine stabilizes Vegas? I don't care how long renders take, right now I can't render anything. |
You shouldn't need to "turn off" cores. However, you can go to Options - Preferences and change the number that Vegas actually uses. Sometimes it *IS* helpful to drop that to 1.
|
"max number of rendering threads" in preferences controls how many CPU cores are utilized?
I assumed you had to go to BIOS of something more exotic to shut off cores. |
wow, coincidence, I was just talking to a PC builder about this today.
He said to go via Task manager, processes, right click Vegas and set to 2 cores only. By setting 2 cores for Vegas and 2 cores for anything else, he believes the stability of the operation is vastly improved. I havent tried it yet, will post back when I have something. :) |
