Advice needed on sign language for video

1 Attachment(s)
I've been asked to add a person doing sign language to a film that I made earlier in the year.

Can anyone offer advice on the best way to do this in Vegas? I'm using version 9.0e.

My plan is to film the person doing sign language against a green screen so they can be overlaid on the original film.

I've attached a screengrab from a video on the Royal National Institute for the Deaf's (RNID) website.

Thanks

Matt

Obviously the RNID considers this an acceptable way of doing it so go that route if you want to.
Please note that, in your frame grab, the track with the person speaking has been squeezed down a bit to make more room for the signer.

Another way of doing it is to shoot the signer against a black background and then use Pan/Crop or Track Motion to shrink them down to the bottom right corner.
This is the way we used to do it for the community college I work for.

or....
subtitles?
just kidding :-).
I assume there's some specific need for the sign language presenter.
Just struck me as funny when the alternative popped in my head. Couldn't resist sharing.
