0xc0000005 is the most basic of exceptions, a generic access violation. The app tried to read from or write to memory it didn't own.

Suggest you submit a bug report to Sony, and perhaps hang on to a copy of those log files referenced, in case they want to see them.

There are a few suggestions for v10 users sprinkled around in the recent messages, perhaps take a peek and see if any apply. Not knowing what you were doing or when the error occurred makes suggesting anything more impossible.

I was working with regular HD mxf files from EX1 and Canon 5D; just regular editing - nothing extraordinary

Then all I can suggest is provide the trace info and description of what you were doing to Sony. Try and save those logs referenced, I presume they refer to actual files on your hard drive. They might be of some use to Sony also.

Hi

I have a HDV file, rendered with Procoder 2.0 to mpeg2 transport stream format.
I have no problem importing and playing back this with Vegas 8.0e, but with Vegas 10 Trial,
i cannot get picture, only hear the audio. The monitor is black.
Other format works.

Some bug?

OK, there is something very wrong going on here with Vegas 10. I REINSTALLED WIN7 / formated drive C:/
everything from scratch...installed fresh vegas 10 etc. started editing HD project using Sony EX1 mxf's and after 15 minutes there is an ERROR;
Win7 was updated, RAM in Vegas was set to 2GB, all new drivers etc.
This is powerful i7 CPU running at 3.5MHZ with 12GB RAM

Not that this really should be an issue on 64bit windows and 64bit Vegas, but I'm guessing this 2GB is your dynamic preview RAM, which has nothing to do with rendering. It is just the 'cache' that vegas uses to not have to re-execute each plugin while you're previewing.

Perhaps try lowering that anyway and see if it helps? Like 350MB or less. As I said, it shouldn't make a difference, but it's the only thing that stands out to me.

Craig,
I am not rendering but simply editing. I will change it back to 350MB and see what happens.

Nope...
I changed it to 350MB it lasted for almost an hour and crashed again....same error.
hm....It wasn't happening this morning when I was working for the last time on Vegas 9 - it is so annoying that
I can't go back to Vegas 9 with projects created on V10.

Ah yes, sorry. I forgot you said that.

Well, in a program like Vegas, given all that's changed, it's near impossible to not have some issues at first. Especially given the broad range of media it has to deal with (as in sources as well as types).

Your log trace seems to indicate you've included the 3D adjust filter in your work? That filter, as well as the whole OFX thing is brand new, as I'm sure you're aware. If it is, in fact, on, perhaps try to remove it and see if you can work longer. Perhaps only applying it at the very end. Not sure, as you indicate going back to v9, where that filter doesn't exist I suspect. Just a thought anyway.

Marius, you honestly need to contact Sony and give them full details on the project, your system, and anything else they may ask for.

Craig,
How to eliminate that 3D filter; I am not using 3D at all. In my Project Properties, video tab stereo 3D is OFF; is this what you are referring to?

Flaky memory and/or drivers can cause access violations too. Interesting that decreasing the preview memory somehow helped. I wonder if testing the ram is in order.

Nothing actually helped!!!
I switched back to Vegas 90e and IT WORKS GREAT!! with exactly same Win7 configuration.

Vegas 10 is screwed up big time;
I even removed those new 3D plugins - nothing help.

Here is what bothers me:

Plain and simple:
- fresh win7
- Sony EX1 files
- rock solid Asus P6X58D motherboard
what simpler configuration could be used for testing for crying out loud!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am working only with Sony files from Sony EX1 camcorder and it can't work together...with brand new installed win7 with newest drivers (yes, I checked it with previous versions of drivers too) - did Sony people tested this software before releasing it to the public??? if yes I am wondering how...
will they refund my money???
