Is this effect Graduated Filter?

Hi guys, i saw this video done with Premiere. I'm interested to do the opening sequence with the black transitions. Is this graduated filter? V9 onwards has this but i have not attempted it yet.

Can y guys see the video?

Ask the videographer how they did it. I'm not sure how much was editing and how much was camera work.

Are you talking about the black fades, or the black 'sweeps' moving horizontally, or something else?

Jeff Harper November 24th, 2010 02:58 PM

I thought he was talking about the black sweeps and the sideways transitions...he'll have to speak for himself, of course. It appears to be a slide transition of sorts, but I don't know about the black...if he contacts the videographer I'd be interested to know what it is.

I thought so too. Haven't tried it, but I'm thinking that you could put this together just by adding a piece of black generated media and using native Vegas transitions. Of course, you have to have shot several shots with pans going in the same direction...

I'm refering to the black transitions. They combined several sliding shots in the same direction with the transition on Premiere Pro. I have seen this several times from other folks with FCP and Premiere. Anyway i confirm this is not a gradient filter transistion.

Wonder if Newblufx can offer an answer to this!

I played a bit with this.
Transition: Push -Push Right.
Select color: Black
Adjust Feather and Border Width to your liking.

Hope this helps.

U got it man!! Thanks Michael, i have been using the push in Newblufx without realising Vegas has its own push pull.
