Vegas dropping source file

Twice this week in the same edit project, I have experienced, when nearly complete and just going back over & playing it through, there were missing video clips, yet there was no notification of the clips being offline etc. Timeline was there but did not show the thumbnails. (Veg Pro 9 64b, i7 win 7 64b.)

Fortunately, I was saved by re-opening a back-up save and all was well again. But it was rather time consuming as on one occasion I had rendered it out for DVD and when I played the file back , after a minute there was only black video for some of the time, sound was all OK.

Anyone else experienced this ?
