Quick & Dirty Audio Editing

I'm compiling many of my daughter's videos into a Vegas project and I prefer not to spend a lot of time with an audio envelope with all the widely varying audio levels. How can I just make a quick and dirty limit/boost on the entire audio track? I'm not very concerned about the quality, as long as it's in the ballpark. I'm thinking of just normalizing all the audio events but I'm not sure if that's the way to go. Thanks.

If you are using a version of Vegas that has Wave Hammer then that would be my first port of call. I often use it to level out/maximise volume on dialogue tracks but it can also be applied to an overall audio track, especially if you aren't overly worried about quality (it will maximise everything, including air con hum, traffic, wind etc etc, as well as things you do want!). Worth a try at any rate.

Thanks Ian. That's exactly what I just started looking at. I'm using Vegas 10 so I can try it on the entire track.
