Capturing HDV footage

So far I only had to import SD tape footage or HD filebased footage into my Vegas 10. Now I need some HDV tape-footage to be captured and I'm having troubles. The footage was recorded in HDV-format with a HDR-FX1E and the only tape-based HDV camcorder I have here now to capture and import it into Vegas 10 is a HD-1000E.

Is this gonna work? If so, how? My PC seems to only recognize the camera in DV-mode, not in the internal HDV-capturemenu of Vegas 10. Can someone please help out? Thx.

Re: Capturing HDV footage

The problem is likely a setting on the camera that needs changed in the menu, but I am only guessing.

I agree with Jeff on a menu setting.
According to the manual (found it online), set VCD HDV/DV to HDV and set i.LINK CONV to OFF

Mike,

Yes, that was it. Thanks a lot! Now I can start working with the FX1's footage finally. Thanks again!

Gabor, thanks for letting us know that was the solution.
