Device Explorer and Canon XF files
Hi
I am on Vegas 10e and want to know if the device explorer works with the Canon XF clips or just with AVCHD. If not, how would I join spanned clips before importing them into Vegas? Thanks. /Ulf |
Re: Device Explorer and Canon XF files
If you've transferred the clips via the Canon XF Utility - and why wouldn't you? - you can just open up the add media option and select them. When you join them on the timeline, they will be seamless.

Re: Device Explorer and Canon XF files
So, Robin, there isn't a way to load directly into Vegas? We have to do a 2-Step Tango?
Another question, are all the clips of the various "shot" length, as per shoot, or are they broken up into Canon chunks? BTW, still waiting for my XF300. I appear to be ascending the Customer priority ladder. Grazie |
Re: Device Explorer and Canon XF files
Grazie, The reason for using the XF Utility is to preserve any metadata that you might have used to annotate info on the clips, PLUS it will allow for seamless integration of long clips which are indeed cut up into chunks. I was editing a two hour event this weekend which was in a number of chunks and they were added to each other on the timeline and were absolutely seamless...

Re: Device Explorer and Canon XF files
eh . . . My bad.
What I'm meaning, if, for example, I shoot clips 30 seconds and then 20 seconds and then 15 seconds, will/do I get separate clips of 30 and 20 and 15? Or ARE they dumped as a 65 second chunk? OR is this something I can elect for? Grazie |
Re: Device Explorer and Canon XF files
They'll be the length that you shot. They won't all be lumped together.
