Best render settings for lots of motion?

Hi everyone,

I know the issue of rendering to dvd in Vegas has been discussed in many previous posts, but I have tried numerous different schemes and I still cannot get an acceptable avchd to mpg2 render in Vegas Pro (9).

My footage is mostly of trains, moving at speed along with various more static shots along the right-of-way (ie. buildings, landscape, etc). The more static shots come out alright, but movement and camera pans bring about wavvy lines, jagged lines and blurriness. I am a bit confused about the interlacing, de-interacing stuff. My railway footage was shot with a new Sony NX70 at 1920*1080 60i @ 16mbps. When played back through DVD Architect the footage looks bad, and does on the finished DVD-r as well.

In Vegas my render project properties have been DVD architect widescreen.

I am hoping somebody can help me out with the proper workflow. The move from SD to HD has been an interesting one these past few weeks!

Thanks very much for any advice or suggestions,

Eric

For reference I have attached the project settings and render settings screen grabs below.
