Does Copy Protection works with DVDA 5.2?

For the first time I tried the copy protection tool in the DVDA 5.2
- disk copyrighted: yes
- copy generations: none
- CSS: on
Macrovision: off

Then I applyed this set up to a project ready to burn - audio TS and video ts prepared - and, when tested the resulting DVD with DVD Shrink, it simply ignored the copy protection and copy the dvd.

So my (possibly naive) question is: is there a real way to protec a DVD working with DVDA (5.2)?

That tool is only used if you're sending files to a replicator.
From the DVDA online help menu:
DVD Architect Pro software sets the flags for CSS and Macrovision copy protection.
The encoding/encryption must be added by the mastering or replication facility.

Nothing that the average 10 yr. old can't break with a few minutes of web surfing to find the right tool :(

I personally just tell my clients they are welcome to copy their discs to their hearts content. Their is no point in doing otherwise.

Even replication house applied CSS protection on, they can be cracked easily basically with no effort these days.

Just like what Jeff said, I also tell my clients there is no copy protection. They are free to make copies to distribute (in other words, promoting your work). I did offer them $20 a copy with design, printed package.

If you really want to make it not so copyable, you can try this method.

Thank you all.
In fact I have to protect this production because I intend to sell it in a one (copy) by one basis.

if you can play it - you can rip it :)

Right Buba, but Taky's solution would work pretty well. A typical customer would have no clue how to overcome that method. It is brilliant, or at least it appears to be.

So... you seriously scratch every DVD and hope you don't scratch too far? That could be a few hundred DVDs in some cases...
