Re: 34or 64 bit
no problem. but of course to state the obvious, you need a 64bit os for 64bit vegas. sorry if it's obvious, it wasn't to one of my students - doh!

Re: 34or 64 bit
What kind of problems are you having?
Make sure you're running the newest version of Pro 9 as there were a lot of bug fixes in 9.0d and 9.0e. |
Re: 34or 64 bit
I have been working with 9 (9e) 64 bit with m2t files for a few years now no troubles. I am now venturing to dslr for videos. I cannot open multiple clips on to project media. It would have audio no video, vice versa. My pc is alright I guess quadro fx1800 windows vista ultimate 64bit i7 920 nehalem 2.66ghz 3 6gb ram.....

Re: 34or 64 bit
Okay 32 or 64 bit won't solve my problem. Multiple dslr clips won't load into project media. I do have 9e. Any solution?

Re: 34or 64 bit
Do you have a recent version of QuickTime installed?

Re: 34or 64 bit
Fred, the most obvious solution would be to upgrade to Vegas Pro 11 which has much better support for DLR clips. Both Pro 10 and Pro 11 improved support for newer formats.

I noticed with a few clips it runs fine. Load them place them on timeline and do your cuts, runs fine. The issue is having multiple clips loaded onto the project manager will freeze, crash Vegas. |

Re: 34or 64 bit
As Vegas Studio 12 is out, I imagine that Pro 12 will be along soon, - probably to coincide with IBC which starts on Friday and runs to Tuesday 11 September.
Sony then usually run an offer for existing Vegas users to upgrade for less than half the normal cost. The offer is usually valid for about 1 month. ps. I am running a trial of Vegas Studio 12 (64 bit) and can report that there are no (apparent) restrictions on the number of Canon SLR clips that can be loaded onto the timeline. I've just loaded 94 on the timeline totalling just under 1 hour. The indexing was quick and trouble-free and the video plays smoothly in the preview window on the 'Best (Full)' setting. My workstation is an i7 920 with 12GB of RAM, running Windows 7 Home Premium. |
Re: 34or 64 bit
Here's a summary of the history of Vegas Pro releases:
Vegas 11 was released September 2011 (IBC) Vegas 10 was released October 2010 (just after IBC) Vegas 9 was released April 2009 (NAB) Vegas 8 was released September 2007. (IBC) Vegas 7 was released September 2006. (IBC) Vegas 6 was released April 2005. (NAB) Vegas 5 was released April 2004. (NAB) (Sony purchased it in mid 2003) Vegas 4 was released April 2003 but had a public beta starting around January. Vegas 3 was somewhere around December 2001/January 2002 |
Re: 34or 64 bit
I just used the trial 11 loaded 98 dslr clips played smoothly natively!! Will hold off till 12. I used 11 to encode to a Mxf file then used 9 to slice and dice. Solved my problem...
