Single or Dual Monitors with Vegas?

After many years of dual Samsung 4:3 monitors it looks like I'm going to have to replace them with widescreen monitors because they're both getting intermittent.

Is the preference still to edit on dual monitors or with one large as possible widescreen monitor?

Thanks.

I edit with four; three lined in a curve and the fourth one center top, which is the external monitor dedicated to previews.

I have a pc with two widescreens and a laptop with the only screen it comes with. I installed Vegas on boths an they both work. But I still prefer working on two screens. More detail.

3 - 2 for vegas third via bm intensity for monitoring.

Thanks for the replies. I'm limited on desk space and if I go with 2 monitors probably the largest I could use are roughly 2-20 inch monitors. If I had a single monitor I would go with something in the 30-42" size depending on the cost.

For anyone that uses a single monitor, other than a laptop, what size monitor are you using?

I use a single 28" and an older 15" broadcast grade CRT for colour checking and I'm quite happy with the setup.

2 x Dell 27" 2560x1440 Ultrasharps here.
Have my Blackmagic out hooked up to a 32" LCD TV for preview if I want it, but TBH, dont use it much.
The Dells are very nice.

If you go big with one monitor, make sure to increase pixels for more screen real estate.

I still love two. Especially if I am following along with a video tutorial.

I do this too, however, Sony Vegas has a lot of little windows I would love to park on another monitor.

Sounds like the way to go is still with multiple monitors. I've really liked having 2 monitors with Vegas for many years now, but I thought with the availability and lower prices of large screens maybe there would be a good reason to have only 1 larger screen.

What kind of monitors do you like in the 20-21 inch range?

Two small 1920x1200 monitors have twice as many pixels than one large 1920x1200 monitor.

2 sometimes 3. I have two large monitors to edit with. One glossy and one matt and an older broadcast monitor. Much of my work is going to internet so I judge that off of the glossy and matt monitors and when I do broadcast work I always check colors with the broadcast one even though I usually nail it with scopes. There can be a lot of saturation and contrast difference even with two monitors of the same make and model and calibrated to the same color temp between glossy and matt finish on the screen.

Outside of that, more detail to see while editing and color grading with a large preview screen. The benefit while following tutorials and also having scopes large enough to see detail. I have an MSI laptop that is pretty impressive in handling huge projects and HD but I can only cut on it and practice things. I will always send things over where I can see for sure how things are going to look in the real world. I've caught so many things with larger previews and done so much better grads I'm lost without dual monitors.

Dell UltraSharp U2312HM 23" IPS LED LCD Monitor

I decided to go with 2 monitors. Anyone using the Dell UltraSharp U2312HM 23" IPS LED LCD Monitor for editing?
